Public carrier lookup

Understand a carrier’s authority.

Look up a company and open its source-reported operating-authority records. Registration status and operating authority are separate facts.

Read the identifier in context.

An active USDOT registration is not a substitute for the appropriate operating authority. Read each authority type and status in its own source context.

What can a public record tell you?

The record can show names, registered contact details, reported fleet information and source-reported authority. It cannot establish who is contacting you, whether a load is legitimate or whether insurance covers a particular shipment.

How current is the information?

Every profile shows when its information was retrieved. Selected browsing records use a saved source snapshot; other lookups query the public source on demand. A retrieval date is not the date each fact changed.

Read the source and coverage notes.
