Begin with the right entity
A company name alone is a weak starting point. Resolve the USDOT or docket number, compare the legal name and location, and keep the identifiers with your review. Baseline helps organize the public record so you can see what still needs a direct check.
Public information is one input
A record lookup does not authenticate a person contacting you, inspect a truck, confirm a load’s coverage or supply a commercial reference. Keep those checks in your own process. Baseline does not issue an approval, risk score or fraud verdict.
Look beyond the initial lookup
Contact and regulatory details may change after onboarding. The planned monitoring workspace would make retained observations comparable across a customer-selected list. Saved watchlists and notifications are not available today.
Use the source, then document your judgment
For each relevant fact, retain its source and the time checked. Separate the value you read from the conclusion your team reaches. The guides below provide practical lookup, identity and onboarding workflows.
